MİXED OCCUPANCY |
PRODUCTION HALL /OFFICES/ LABORATARIES |
|
Where different parts of a building or storey of a building are designed for different types of occupancies or used for different purposes at the same time, the exit requirements of the entire building or storey of the building shall be determined on the basis of that type of occupancy or usage having the strictest exit requirements or the exit requirements for each building section shall be determined separately. |
Case:1500 m2 production hall (high hazard) and 100 m2 anchillary office ,100 m2 Laborataries. Fully sprinklered. |
|
Occupany load of story |
High Hazard Production Hall :Area 1500 m2 ,Occ.Density:10m2/prs Occupand Load=1500/10=150 prs |
Offices :Area 100 m2 ,Occ.Density:10m2/prs Occupand Load=100/10=10 prs |
Laboraties :Area 100 m2 ,Occ.Density:5 m2/prs Occupand Load=100/5=20 prs |
Total Occupancy Load of Story:150+10+20=180 person. We need min two exits. |
The position of the exit doors shall be so located that the maximum permissible travel distance from any remote point to the doors shall be based on that of the high hazard production hall , having the stricter requirements in Table 2 |
Maximum permissible distance for high hazard :35 mt & one-way distance :20 mt (common path) |
Maximum permissible distance for office :75 mt & one-way distance :30 mt (common path) .But office exit distances calculated on the base of high hazard.
|
Maximum permissible distance for office :35 mt & one-way distance :20 mt (common path) |
At above diagram for office exit route |
Maximum permissible travel distance A to C must be smaller than 35 mt and one-way travel distance A to B must be smaller than 20 mt |
At above diagram exit route A to E is not a accepted route due to storage room. |
