Tourism sector is known to be the world's largest resource (energy, water, materials & food) consuming industry and generating disproportionate amounts of waste. Out of the total resource consumed by the hotel sector, 60% is alone consumed by hotels (hotels here refers to hotel, guesthouse, motels, way side amenities, resorts etc)
