5 * STAR CITY HOTEL -GUESTROOM CORRIDORS

Guestroom Corridors

• Create comfortable and inviting space rather than a zone that must be crossed.
• Level changes are not permitted.
2. Size/Area: 1.5 m (5 ft.) minimum corridor width.
• Corridor Exit Dead-end: Maximum 15 m (50 ft.) distance (sprinkler system required <14>).
• Ceiling Height: 2.4 m (8 ft.) minimum.
3. Alcoves: At Guestroom Entry, form a wall alcove, 0.30 m (1 ft.) deep at each side of Corridor.
4. House Telephones: Single phone at elevator vestibule table; locate additional House Phones at logical nodes where guest corridors are excessively long or convoluted.
5. Finishes: Includes foyers and entrance alcoves. Provide corridor materials that accentuate the residential design and appearance.
• Floors: Carpet 80/20 Axminster <16>; use accent or feature carpeting.
• Base: Wood (painted or stained) or carpet, 10 cm (4 inch) high.
• Walls: Vinyl wallcovering throughout with alcove in contrasting vinyl and accented by detailing and crown molding for residential appearance. Disguise access panels, electrical closets and similar devices.
• Corner Protection: At outside corners provide vinyl corner guards that complement or blend with adjacent wall finish.
• Doors / Frames: Typically, painted frames. See door requirements in this Module for door finishes.
• Ceilings: Smooth painted (gypsum board substrate or skim coat plaster over ground substrate); no ceiling tiles.

Guest Elevator Foyers
Size/Area: Minimum width of 2.4 m (8 ft.) for single-loaded elevator banks and 3.6 m (12 ft.) at double-loaded elevator banks.
Interior Design Features:
• Furniture: Accommodate and include areas for furnishings such as credenza, framed decorative mirror and guest seating.
• Telephones: Include house telephone, framed mirror or artwork; floral arrangement or artifact.
• Lighting: Decorative ceiling fixtures combined with decorative and recessed lights.
Finishes:
• Floors: Provide combination of carpeting and hard material flooring at foyers (stone, wood – if foyer and luggage movement noise is not immediately adjacent to guestroom doors).
• Walls: Extend vinyl wall covering and millwork details from corridors. Provide corner protection, crown molding and base design same as in guest corridor.
• Ceilings: Smooth painted, same as corridors; no ceiling tiles.

• Elevator Doors: Millwork or stone trim.
