Film Coated Glass
What Are Window Films?
Windows are an integral and welcome feature of buildings, whatever their
age, but there can be negative consequences associated with glass. These
include temperature extremes, loss of energy, glare, fading of furnishings,
privacy, plus of course safety issues.
Window films are the the simplest and cost economical way to combat these
and other problems, whilst at the same time enhancing the benefits of
glass.
Solar films
- energy efficient UV reflective films to reduce uncomfortable heat, glare
and fading of furnishings .Solar control window film applied to the interior
of your windows is a transparent "solar shield" that can reject
up to 80% of the sun's heat. In summer your home is cooler and more comfortable,
so you can save on energy bills. In winter, some window films trap room
heat for year -round comfort.
Solar control window films are available with a scratch resistant coating
and in a variety of elegant tints like bronze and gray, and in neutral
tones that appear virtually invisible on your windows.
Safety and security films
- Protection from Accidental Injury
Like an invisible shield, security films offer protection from broken
glass when accidents occur at home and at work. When ordinary annealed
glass breaks, it poses considerable danger. The shattered pieces become
daggers that can cause serious injury or even death. Engineered with powerful
adhesives, security films reduce the hazard of broken glass by keeping
the pieces together and safely attached to the film.
Protection from Violent Weather
When Mother Nature loses her temper, devastation and loss is sure to
follow. Glass is always one of the first casualties during a hurricane,
tornado or earthquake. During violent weather when glass breaks, wind,
rain and flying debris are given full access to your home or office, causing
property damage and destruction.
Security films are Mother Nature's match. Able to withstand extraordinary
wind and force, security film helps prevent entry of water and wind-borne
debris, providing superior protection 24-hours a day. Disasters can strike
with little or no warning; security films are always ready.
Protection from Crime
Windows and doors are the most vulnerable parts of your home or place
of business. They are points of entry for criminals and smash-and-grab
thieves. Glass is an inviting target for vandals intent on mischief or
worse.
Alarms and security systems are helpful, but provide little protection
from experienced or determined intruders. With security films, intruders
cannot readily penetrate the glass, even by striking it with a heavy implement.
Usually they become discouraged and quickly depart for some easier target.
Protection from Explosions
Bombs. Industrial explosions. Terrorist attacks. In an instant,
an explosion can fire broken glass fragments at lethal speeds. Research
conducted after explosions, points to flying and broken glass as
one of the main causes of death or injury.
While nothing can completely protect against powerful explosions,
security films have proven their effectiveness in these moments
of extreme danger.

Privacy films
- privacy films make glass look great in offices and working spaces.
Frosted and pattern films create privacy without spoiling an open
and stylish environment.
Translucent privacy films are used to give two-way privacy, but
at the same time, maintain a good level of natural light. These
window films have a finely textured translucent matt finish and
can be applied to new or existing glass.
One of the great advantages of privacy films when compared to acid
etching or screen printing is that the films can be quickly and
easily applied on site, without removing the glass. Applying privacy
films gives you the option to remove, replace or update designs
in the future if required.
For privacy screening combined with attractive bespoke designs
we can supply privacy films with cut outs to your own specifications.
As well as adding a distinctive designer style to your office interior,
the use of privacy films allows some through vision for reception
areas and meeting rooms, where total screening is not required

Graphics films
Window films can also be used to produce personalised
window graphics for long term or temporary application
to glass.
Company logos can be used repeatedly to reinforce
a coporate identity programme or for manifestation
of large glazed panels.
The logo or design can be made in the appropriate
film (eg acid etch effect) and applied to plain glass
or alternatively reverse cut out of a filmed panel.

Manifestation films
- Glass manifestation film products are for upgrading glazing in
accordance with Health and Safety recommendations which advocate
the marking of large uninterrupted glazed areas.
Specifically, the Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations
1992, Regulation 14 states that:
"Every window or other translucent surface in a wall or partition
. door or gate shall, where necessary for reasons of health safety.be
appropriately marked or incorporate features so as in either case
to make it apparent."
Manifestation marking can take the form of dots, squares, stripes
etc or bespoke designs repeated at appropriate intervals and heights.
