Guestroom Areas Corridors: A minimum of 2 remote exits; maximum 15.24 m (50 ft.) travel distance at dead-end corridors.
Provide panic hardware on assembly occupancydoors where occupant loads are greater than 100 person
Ballrooms and Meeting Rooms with areas of 32.5 m2 (350 sq. ft.) and larger require two or more remote exits. Doors in operable partitions are not considered
exits.

Stair widths shall be determined by occupancy load, but in no case less than 1.10m (3'- 8"). Width of doors leading into stairs shall be determined by occupant load but in no case less than 0.85m (2 ' - 8"). Tread width minimum 25cm (10") and riser maximum of 18cm

Doors must open in the direction of travel and not impede movement of people descending from a higher floor
Guests may not pass through a service area after leaving corridor or function room to reach the stairs
Means of egress shall be adequately illuminated and provided with illuminated exit signs. Emergency illuminations shall be provided in case of power failure
At least half of the required exit stairs from upper floors shall discharge directly to the exterior or through passageways with protected openings.
Stairs in the same stairwell serving above and below exit levels must be separated at exit level. Avoid sharing stairs and exit corridors with other properties (office, retail, residence, etc.)
Corridors shall be sprinklered and long corridors shall be divided with smoke doors on automatic smoke detector activated holders. Each division should have access to a fire stair.
Partitions between guest rooms and corridors shall have at least a one hour fire resistance rating. Partitions must be carried up above any hung ceilings to the structural slab or beam above. All stairways, lifts, elevators and other shafts shall be enclosed with 2 hour partitions providing protection to fire exposure from either side.

Duct penetrations of fire-rated walls must have appropriate accessible re- settable fire dampers
Doors from guest room to corridor shall be at least 44mm (1_") thick solid bonded wood core doors or shall have a minimum fire protection rating of 30 minutes. Doors shall be self-closing. Doors from guest room to corridor may NOT be undercut or contain grilles for make-up air. Such doors must be made smoke-tight by use of drop-seals and gaskets . Automatic smoke detection devices connected to a central alarm system shall be provided in all guest rooms and in corridors leading from guestrooms to exits.
Sprinklers are required in addition to smoke detectors in all guest rooms.
Mechanical and electrical equipment rooms, laundries, and maintenance shops shall be separated from other parts of the building by construction having at least
one hour fire resistance rating and openings shall be protected. Local Codes must be followed for special protective measures in paint shops and spray booths
