A horrible event at MGM Hotel

in great Las Vegas

where anything will sell

Gambling and money

is all they care about

it is a city where everyone smiles

and no one thinks to pout

On November 21

the year was 1980

a wire was out of place

the construction was lazy

5000 people were there

eighty-six of them died

if someone would have checked the wires

they would all still be alive

600 were injured

amongst the terrible fire

all because of one

tiny little wire

The fire started blazing

shortly after seven

If the sprinkler system worked

those people wouldn't be in heaven

The smoke filled up

through out the halls

The screams of the dying

echoed in between the walls

A fire alarm never sounded

there was no way to stop the blaze

the fire soon spread through the hotel

where people stared in a gaze

MGM refused to pay

for the $192 000 sprinkler system

obviously the construction workers

didn't have very complex wisdom
