Tozbey Hotel Fire in Istanbul

A fire broke out at the Tozbey Hotel in Istanbul, killing 17 Ukrainians and injuring more than 40 persons. On 22 November .Authorities believed it may have been caused by faulty wiring and negligence by the hotel's guests.At least 17 people were killed and 41 injured in a fire that broke out Sunday in the Tozbey Hotel in a tourist area of downtown Istanbul. Most of the casualties were reported to be from a group of Ukrainian women who were staying in the sevenstory, threestar hotel.

The lower floors of the hotel were gutted in the blaze, which police said may have been sparked by a natural gas leak.
