12 die in Iraq hospital fire

Nasiriyah - A fire swept through the general hospital in this southern Iraqi city early on Sunday, killing at least 12 people and injuring up to 100, the fire department said.

The blaze at Nasiriyah General Hospital was believed cause by an electrical fault, the fire department said.

The injured were transferred to another hospital in the city, about 320km southeast of Baghdad.
