Sprinklers Save Norwegian Hotel Guests

A 26 year old guest at the Scandic Bergen City Hotel was arrested this weekend after he started a fire at 0430 in his room on the seventh floor. He was drunk after a Christmas party and still in the smoke-filled room when the hotel security guard arrived to investigate.


Fortunately the hotel is protected by a sprinkler system which had already extinguished the fire in his room. After a precautionary check at the hospital he was returned to the police. The other 121 guests were evacuated when the fire alarm sounded but were soon able to return to their rooms and get some sleep.
