A Sennheiser headphone production facility in Tullamore,
Ireland was badly damaged by fire in the early hours of
Monday morning, May 3rd. Fortunately no one was injured
in the fire.
In spite of the substantial damage to the factory, Peter
Callan, general manager of Sennheiser Ireland, is confident
that operations will resume in a relatively short period
of time. Adjacent facilities have already been secured and
the rebuilding process has begun. The cause of the fire
is as yet unknown.
"We immediately began the process of rebuilding the
Tullamore factory," said Rolf Meyer, president marketing
& sales for Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG
and speaker of the executive committee. "Volker Bartels,
president manufacturing, is currently at the site to coordinate
all activities together with Peter Callan and to get the
factory back into production as quickly as possible. The
entire Sennheiser Ireland team is doing everything it can
to support them."
